PINOCHLE

This Pinochle group is a multi-branch activity open to all level of play.    Beginners are welcome as are partners/guests of members.  We provide instruction as requested, and most beginners learn within the first session.  We have plenty of room for new people

We meeting in person on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 1:00 until 3:00 at

Rocco’s Pizza

2909 Ygnacio Valley Rd.

Walnut Creek, CA

(in the Encina Grande shopping center near Whole Foods).    

We have lunch starting at noon with card play 12:30 to 3:00.   We play 3, 4, 5, or 6-handed pinochle so we can accommodate any number of players.  We normally have from 9 to 12 players.  Ladies and new players are welcome.  We share this activity with Branch 146.

On December 13, we had 11 participants.  Dennis Mierzwa, Tom Amann, and visitor Frank Jorden won the 6-handed table .  At the 5-person game, Jeff Morrow from Branch 146 won the first game with Bob Weiss winning the second.  

On November 27, we had two tables with a total of 9 Players.  At one table, Stan Johnson won the 5-handed table with a two-game total of 662 with Art Fabsits second with 597 and Terry Mason third with 581.  At the other table with four players, Dennis Mierzwa and Roy Hodgkinson (of Branch 146) won two close games 1080 to 1023. 

On November 13, we had 9 participants.  Terry Mason and Tom Amann won both games over Dennis Mierzwa and Art Fabsits with a total of 1047 points.  At the 5 person game, Charlie Kahsen from Branch 146 won both games with a total of 979.  

On October 23, we had two tables with a total of 10 Players.  At one table, Art Fabsits won the day with a two-game total of 1008 with Tom Amann second with 854.  At the other table with five players, Jim Barry of Branch 146 won with 907 over two games. 

On October 9, we also had 9 participants.  Dennis Mierzwa and Stan Johnson won both games over Jerry Ward and Art Fabsits.  At the 5 person game, Charlie Kahsen from Branch 146 won the 2 game series. 

On September 25, we had two tables with a total of 9 Players.  At one table with four players, Art Fabsits and Terry Mason won the day with a two-game total of 959 to 648.  At the other table with five players, Jim Barry of Branch 146 won with 934 over two games with Stan Johnson second with 880.   

On Sept. 11, we also had two tables with a total of 9 participants.  Tom Amann and Terry Mason won both close games over Dennis Mierzwa and Art Fabsits.  At the 5 person game, Jim Barry from Branch 146 won both games.  

On August 28, we had two tables with a total of 9 Players.  At one table, Art Fabsits and Stan Johnson won the first game, and Dennis Mierzwa and Jerry Ward won the second.  At the other table, Roy Hopkinson of Branch 146 (our state treasurer) won both games. 

On August 14, we had two tables with a total of 10 Players.  At one table, Stan Johnson won the 5-hand game with 517 points. The second game at this table was won by Jerry Ward with 438 points. At the other table, Jeff Morrow of Branch 146 won the day with 548 points.  The second game was won by Charlie Kahsen of Branch 146 with 500 points.

On July 24, we also had 10 participants.  Charlie Kahsen from Branch 146 won a 5-handed game with 515 points and Stan Johnson won the second game with 393 Points.   At the other 5-handed table, Dennis Mierzwa won the first game with 524 points and Terry Mason won the second game.

On June 26, we had two tables with a total of 9 Players.  At one table, Bob Weiss won the 5-hand game with 633 points.  At the other table, Stan Johnson and Dennis Mierzwa won the day with 900 points.  On July 10, we also had 9 participants.  Charlie Kahsen from Branch 146 won the 5-handed game with 712 points with Stan Johnson second.   At the 4-hand table, Jerry Ward and Dennis Mierzwa won the first game and Terry Mason and Art Fabsits won the second.

On June 12, we had two tables, with a total of 9 people. At one table, Dennis Mierzwa and Stan Johnson won both games with a total of 874 points to 643 for Terry Mason and Jerry Ward. On the last hand played, the winners had a double run, double kings, and double Pinochle for an amazing hand of 300. At the other table, Bob Weiss won one game and Jeff Morrow from Branch 146 won the other.
