Golf – 9 Hole
Our golf group normally consists of 12 – 16 golfers. All golfers can setup their tee times on the SIR Branch 8 Website under the Golf 9-Hole link in the Activities list on the right side of the page. The Starter of the Month checks in everyone, ensures the foursomes are setup and ready to go and designates the fun event for the day i.e. closest to the pin on a specific hole or fewest putts for the round, etc.
After the round, the golfers meet in the Greenery Restaurant at the course for a refreshment and or a bite, and to exchange golf “stories” or whatever topics pop up. The winner of the “fun event” gets to pick a gift from the “prize box”. The details of weekly play are posted on the website. The group has two annual events:
The Club Championship Tournament. This event includes winners for longest drive, closest to the pin, low gross and low net individual scores;
The Don Atwater Golf Tournament and Dinner (36th annual in 2024). This great tournament is open to members and guests, includes event winners (men and women) for putting contest, longest drive, closest to the pin, low gross and low net individual scores.
