Club Championship

Our Club Championship event is held annually in the late Fall consisting of competitions for individual low gross, individual low net, longest drive, and closest-to-the-pin.

2024 Club Championship

It was a beautiful fall morning as 15 golfers teed off at 9:00 at Diablo Hills Golf Course for the second round of the Club Championship. The groups went out in a timely manner as managed by Starter Mike Frey. After the rounds most of the golfer met in the Greenery Restaurant for a beverage/bite and to await the scoring calculations by Mike Frey.

Following are the winners of the events ….:

Low Gross: Rich Knowles, 38

Low Net: George Vogt, 36

Longest Drive Hole #2: Gary Grice, approximately 200 yds

Closest to hole #4, Ante Chan, 3 ft, 2 inches

2023 Club Championship

It was a cool fall morning as 12 golfers teed off at 9:00 at Diablo Hills Golf Course. The groups went out in a timely manner as managed by Starter Glenn Gilman and the three foursomes played in little over 2 hours. After the rounds most of the golfers met in the Greenery Restaurant for a beverage/bite and to await the scoring calculations by Mike Frey.

Longest Drive Hole #2: Mike Frey, approximately 190 – yds

Closest to hole #4, Carl Sakofsky, 11ft, 1 1/2 inches

Low Gross: Rich Knowles, 44

Low Net: Rick McGuire, 38.3

2022 Club Championship

10 golfers teed off today starting at 9:00 AM at Diablo Hills Golf Course on a very chilly morning for golf. Today was our Club Championship event. The events of the day as established by Mike Frey, were longest drive on the 2^nd hole closest to the pin on the 4th hole. Pat Dodson won the longest drive event and Mike Frey won the closest to the pin event. Ray de Wit won the “low gross” event ( second year in a row) with a score of “41” and Glenn Gilman won the “low net” event with score of “40”. The group recorded 15 pars and no birdies. Good time had by all !!

It was a cool late-summer morning as 11 golfers teed off at 9:00 at Diablo Hills Golf Course. The groups went out in a timely manner and the average playing time per group clocked in at a little over 2 hours. After the rounds everyone congregated in the dining room at the Greenery Restaurant for a beverage/bite and to await the score calculations by Ray deWit and Mike Frey.

Following are the winners of the events …. which were dominated by two players:

Longest Drive Hole #2: Rick McGuire, approximately 210 yds.

Closest to hole #4, Rick McGuire, 6ft, 3 ¾ inches.

Low Gross: Ray de Wit, 38.

Low Net: Ray de Wit, 37.

Fewest Number of Putts: Ray de Wit, 14.
